SF Champions FAQ's

What kind of programs do you provide for basketball training and development for my child in the San Francisco Bay area?

SF Champions Basketball/SF Soldiers is one the Bay Area's leading programs offering structured training and development opportunities for boys and girls from 3rd grade-high school.  We strongly support a family-style approach for our members involving both parents and players to achieve our goals of developing a "complete" player together.

Where are your primary locations for training and practices and how often do you have practices?

SFC's primary practice facility is located in South San Francisco at Elite Sports Centers 2 (415 E. Grand Ave Suite 101).  We also utilize other facilities in San Francisco including Riordan HS, SF Day School, and MLK Academy as needed.

During our two primary seasons, Spring/Summer and Fall, SFC's players can expect to have two to three practices each week incorporating both basic basketball training and development combined with strength and conditioning workouts.

Does SF Champions Basketball and SF Soldiers participate in league/tournament play and where are the games played?

Yes, a significant part of our program is to offer our players the opportunity to compete against players of all levels in leagues and tournaments in the greater Bay Area.  Our higher skilled "travel" players/teams are provided the chance to compete against top players in highly visible nationally recognized events in Southern California, Las Vegas, and beyond.

What are the costs associated with being a part of SF Champions?

Becoming a SFC Member is free and provides you with regular updates on our programs and events and allows you to more easily register for any programs offered.  Tryouts, which are handled like one of our practices are required to determine skill levels for a player's eligibility to join a team and are priced appropriately .  If invited to play on a team, there will be associated fees with monthly payment plans available.  Additional costs include the purchase of a uniform and nominal fees to attend games at tournaments for family and friends who want to support their players.  Actual costs will vary from season to season, and can be provided prior to registration.

Do you provide Financial Assistance to those who may need it?

Yes, limited assistance is available and eligibility is based on financial need, commitment to attend practices and games, and the player's individual academic status/progress.  We will consider requests for Financial Assistance after reviewing information you provide by completing our Financial Assistance Request Form found on our website.  Requests will only be considered after being invited to play with us.
